Fans were provided by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with an early look of what to expect this coming fall on Saturday in the 84th annual Blue-Gold spring game. Highly-touted newcomer quarterback Malik Zaire began the next quarter for the Gold group, and appeared solid for the most part, making quick decisions and playing decisive baseball until his drive was halted by an interception. Growing problems, positive, nevertheless the future is bright in South Bend. The second half featured a non-stop time and flew by apparently in a matter of minutes. Zaire put the game's first touchdown late, however the final time was outlined with a distinctive and entertaining play from defensive tackle Louis Nix III, who took a shotgun breeze on a conversion attempt and steamrolled in to the end zone, all 300-plus pounds of him. The sophomore can play a much more critical role for Brian Kelly's squad this coming year, so Irish fans have to be pleased with what they found from him in the spring sport.
