Carleton Glen Course Assessment

(getting through to reviews from photos) and my playing records Carlton Glen Golf ClubCarleton, MI Grade: C+Teacheras Comments: An amiable class, but conditions were lacking. Carlton Glen is a neighbor hood favorite for significantly more than fifty years. It is a pleasurable program, with a good mix of tough and easy pockets. On the afternoon I visited (summer 2011), however, tee boxes and fairways weren't in the very best condition. The vegetables, on the other hand, were well kept and a delight to putt on. The leading nine with this 6,500 lawn par 71 course is open and simple. A bogey golfer ought to be in a position to score well with this conventional back-and-forth design. The majority of the holes are spacious and relatively free of danger. The most challenging is the 327 lawn par 4 fifth, that includes a creek running across the fairway at about 200 yards out. The creek then takes a right turn and uses the left side of the pit to the green. As a result of the direction of the tee box, trees right and the creek left and trees, a risk is taken by players in attempting to drive over the creek and surrounding tough. I could testify from experience that getting hung up in trees is a real threat. Better on this opening to lay up to the relatively large fairway before the creek. I discovered the trunk nine more interesting. It is only a little more wooded, and offers some more interesting elevation changes. It is also somewhat longer. The par 5 eighteenth is just a 547 garden beast. An original characteristic of Carleton Glen is the cemetery situated in the middle of the program. Carleton Glen also offers one of many most readily useful looking clubhouses Iave seen. It is built from the cellar of a vintage barn and has large glass windows to view the green. Carleton Glen is just a fun, but simple class that is worth if you are already in the area playing. Itad be ideal for an outing. It is not, however, the one that Iad go out of my way to visit A couple more images follow: .
