Bonus Kenny Dalglish on: Why Manchester United are just good enough and ... - Mirror.co.uk

Red Devils may not be a vintage side but they did what was asked and the suffering is over for brave Liverpool mum, writes Kenny Dalglish

It would be harsh to say Manchester City have had a disappointing season given that they are second in the Premier League and in the FA Cup Final.

But if they surrender the league title to Manchester United on Monday night, they will feel they did not build on winning the league last season as they would like to have done.

Whether it's Monday night or the following Sunday at Arsenal, it's only a matter of time until the Red Devils win the league now.

They're not playing against the teams of the past. They're not playing against Roy Keane and Peter Schmeichel or Bryan Robson and Steve Bruce.

They're proving themselves against the best that the current league can throw at them and they have done thatthis season with considerable style and efficiency.

At the Hillsborough memorial service at Anfield on Monday, Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said the biggest mistake the establishment made when they tried to cover up what happened, was that they took on Liverpool mums.

Everybody knows how passionate, how fearsome and how committed Liverpool mums are and Anne Williams, who died this week, epitomised all those qualities.

She wanted justice for her son, Kevin, who died at Hillsborough, and the way she fought for it set a fantastic example for everyone else.

She can rest in peace in the knowledge that she fought for him and the rest of the families with tremendous dignity. She brought their fight for justice close to fruition.
