Chief executive Ron Gourlay gave the Blues players "short shrift" when they asked about their reward for lifting the cup.
A source said: "There's nothing in the players' contracts about a bonus for the Europa League as no-one expected them to be in it.
Since then they have reached the Europa semis and are favourites to go through to the final in Amsterdam next month after being drawn against Basel.
