Diamond happy 'Caroline' gives ease

LA (AP) a Neil Diamond said he's happy his "Sweet Caroline," an addition of Boston Red Sox games, can offer comfort following the Boston Marathon bombing. The New York Yankees, Toronto Raptors and other professional sports teams have played the song at games in the occasions after Monday's lethal explosions, with fans and players frequently singing along. "There will be a lot of comfort that music may offer," Diamond informed The Associated Press. "In this particular situation, I had much rather it not need occurred than for 'Sweet Caroline' to become section of it. However it is actually providing comfort to people and I'm good about that." Diamond talked Thursday night in La at the Rock and Roll Hall induction ceremony. He said he intended the song, first introduced in 1969 and addressed to Caroline Kennedy, to offer peace. It was written by "i in a in Memphis, Tennessee," he said. "And I do believe there's slightly of God in that music. I usually have felt that. There's no accounting for exactly what do eventually a song. But this one had something particular to it."
