Strategy Hamilton Academical may spend come july 1st as Villa, Lopez, Cavani connected with AFC - Crunchsports.com

Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein thinks boss Arsene Wenger is able to splash the bucks come july 1st. Collection, who earlier in the day this season declared half-year profits of A17.8million to the end of November 2012 and cash reserves of A123.3m, have gone nine years since they last won a prize, and Wenger has seemed to be reluctant to spend large sums of money in the transport market. The Gunners continue to be linked with a number of people, with Barcelona forward David Villa and Atletico Madrid's Adrian Lopez still considered to be on the shopping list, while Napoli striker Edinson Cavani was rumoured to become a January exchange goal. There are calls from Arsenal supporters for Wenger to pay large once the transport screen reopens, and Dein thinks the Frenchman is going to do exactly that. "The simple truth is he's to reinforce the staff and I understand he will do that," he toldAThe Sun. "He is among the most useful managers on earth, he is been coaching for 30 years and knows what he is doing. "He knows what he wants and it is merely a question of identifying the best talent." Dein added that he does not feel Wenger is considering stepping down as Gunners boss. "It is really a long, hard season and I am an excellent supporter of Arsene," he said. "He has done a job and continues to take action year-on-year. He's the fire in his stomach. Any reason was not seen by me why he should not be there. "Arsene's on program for next season's Champions League. But they have fallen 20-odd items behind United, which will be not good enough."
