Soccer-Casillas must watch for Real Madrid return - Yahoo! News (website)

MADRID, March 29 (Reuters) - Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas is back training after injury but lacks the necessary sharpness to really make the group for Saturday's La Liga game at Real Zaragoza, based on assistant instructor Aitor Karanka. The Spain and Real leader has been out with a broken finger since January and also missed the World Cup qualifiers against Finland last Friday and France on Tuesday. "The medical team passed him fit a week ago but he doesn't have the competitive edge needed to be 100 percent for games," Karanka told a conference on Friday. "He is training well and that is advantageous to every one. When he's 100 % he will be removed to play but because he is a goalkeeper it's tougher." Diego Lopez, closed from Sevilla in January as cover for Casillas, has excelled in the 11 activities he's played for Real. In that time the staff have qualified for the King's Cup last and the last nine of the Champions League. There has been lots of speculation about whether Casillas is going to be restored to Real's part when he has recovered, particularly bearing in mind the frosty relationship that media reports say exists between him and coach Jose Mourinho. Real survived the global break unaffected by incidents and have the full squad available for Saturday's sport, bar one doubt over Portugal defense Fabio Coentrao. "Coentrao is in the group and we will have how he goes tomorrow regarding whether he starts," Karanka added. True are 2nd in Manhattan project Liga 13 points behind leaders Barcelona with 10 games left to perform. Mourinho's team number Galatasaray in a League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday.
