Police held the former Newcastle United striker after a large crowd gathered outside popular city nightclub Tiger Tiger
Troubled footballer Nile Ranger will appear in court tomorrow charged with assault following a row in a car park with his girlfriend.
Police held the former Newcastle United striker, 21, after a large crowd gathered outside popular city nightclub Tiger Tiger.
Club worker Samantha Simpson said the disturbance started after Ranger, 21, had returned to the club claiming he had been mugged.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "At 7.09pm yesterday evening police received a report of a fight in the car park area at The Gate, Newcastle.
"A 21-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of assault and he is currently in custody helping police with inquiries."
