Just hours before the North London derby, there are reports that Arsenal FC are set to be the subject of a sensational takeover bid by a Middle Eastern consortium within weeks.
The bid is said to be in the region of £1.5 billion, or £20,000 per share as they look to tempt majority shareholder Stan Kroenke into selling up. Currently shares are valued at £17,000 each.
The investors come from Qatar and the UAE and intend to spend heavily in order to put the Gunners back among European football's elite.
