Roma's Osvaldo Nets Hat-Trick While His Future Remains Unsure

Romaas conquer Siena on Sunday is merely more evidence of an inconsistent side with an excessively uncertain, mercurial striker. In the end that has been said about Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, I assume it was fitting that he'd have a stunning performance against the relegation-threatened Bianconeri, bagging three objectives to create his group back in contention for next yearas Europa League. In conclusion to the Osvaldo Saga remains elusive. It's been a journey, from Roma seemingly finding that ideal mixture of method and energy for a, to waiting for the moment to cash in. After todayas performance, they'll again have to question what has to be performed with the unpredictable Italian International. Roma supporters all believed that the search for a center-forward had finally broken when Marco Borriello arrived in 2010, but for one reason or still another he wasnat to last for long. Osvaldo seemed like a perfect replacement, certainly excellent on the ball to Borriello, only if missing that killer instinct. He furthermore won supportersa spirits when he took on both Batistuta and Tottias popular purpose celebrations. But, as has been the case in recent years with the Italian Giants, there is a catch. Ends up Osvaldo is volatile and unconventional. Perhaps it had been an indicator when he smacked teammate Erik Lamela that the street ahead would have been a difficult one. The easiest way to understand Osvaldoas personality is by knowing that he's a statue of Mick Jagger in his house (hopefully Mick as a young man, though young or old will make for a pretty frightening sightathe Rock and Roll star is obviously no David). And ok, this is simply not the same level of crazy as possibly Balotelli with his commissioning of a statue of himself in full bronze, but itas still pretty awful strange. On April 11, Osvaldo came ultimately back to Rome from London and mentioned, aHere they donat love mea (Italian). He seemed surprised by this hostility, however, even after he found an unwanted suspension that caused him to skip the derby against opponents Lazio a couple of days earlier, before leaving for London instead of remaining to look at the match. He primarily went from being the newest Batistuta to but another sporadic, unreliable and unwanted striker. Where he was being whistled by supporters each and every time when it seemed mind be getting back his most readily useful following an incredibly courageous game against Juventus back in February, bad performances continued to the stage he touched the ball (which was not frequently). Meanwhile, other striker Mattia Destro was going through an interval of revival, scoring the all-important goals to create Roma through to the final of the Coppa Italia. With Destro out against Siena, Osvlado just could have won back his supporters with his first hat-trick for the team, declaring following the game that he is happy in the Roma kit (Italian). It's safe to state that the ability is obviously there, and when Osvaldo is enjoying his basketball, he is able to score in just about every way. Let the stats do the talking. Despite what's been a really hard season for both him and Roma, this season have been still managed to score 12 goals by him in Serie A. However, finding how to keep the person happy may show to be perhaps not worth the time and effort. Except, of course, the Rolling Stones solve the issue themselves by playing for him before every game.

Amar'e Stoudemire Targeting second Round of Basketball Playoffs as You Are Able To Get back Day

If the Ny Knicks make it past the Boston Celtics and into the second round of the 2013 NBA playoffs, assume Amar'e Stoudemire to supply a boost to the second model. That is the newest from ESPN's Ian Begley, who surveyed Stoudemire just before Tuesday night's Game 2 game between the Knicks and Celtics at Madison Square Garden: "If everything goes great (with rehabilitation), then I am prepared to play," Stoudemire said. "Sooner than later, ideally, if everything remains to improve." [...] "Everything's on plan for the absolute most part. I have got to continue steadily to get stronger, surely got to get back on the court, start going around at whole speed," Stoudemire said. ."..And if I are designed for that then we go up a step, that's great. Then I'm looking (forward to) hopefully playing soon. We'll see." Head instructor Mike Woodson also maintained his earlier in the day position prior to the sport, declaring when Stoudemire is balanced enough to play in the 2nd round, he will engage in the rotation: "If he's in a position to ensure it is back he will be back in the turn, willing to play," Woodson said. "I am expecting him to do what he was doing before he left because he played some very good, positive minutes for our ball club before he got hurt". [...] Good piece is just added one more by "-LRB- A healthy Stoudemire ), good piece, to the puzzle right back out on the ground even as we continue this journey," Woodson included. Stoudemire has played in mere 29 activities this year because of his uncomfortable right knee, calculating 14.2 details and shooting 57.7 per cent from the field in just 25.5 minutes a match. It's unclear what player the Knicks would deactivate to create room for Stoudemire on the active roster in Round 2, where Ny would catch the winner of the Indiana Pacers-Atlanta Hawks line. Kenyon Martin has moved up big in Stoudemire's shortage, giving a psychological and physical influence to the next product, allowing Woodson to utilize Chris Copeland and Steve Novak in various lineups as necessary. One major problem to a potential Stoudemire return is the age-old problem when the playoffs hita'how may staff chemistry be affected? It's certainly difficult enough to go back to an NBA array after a long absence, even without the depth of the postseason factored in. Stoudemire has not performed since March 7, undergoing surgery to wash up debris in his right leg on March 11. He contains profession averages of 21.3 factors and 8.6 rebounds, numbers that leap to 23.0 and 8.9 in the postseason.

Tyler Eifert Scouting Report: NFL View for Notre Dame TE

In recent years, Notre Dame has been something of a tight end manufacturer, delivering John Carlson and Kyle Rudolph to theANFLAas second-round selections and early career entrepreneurs for their pro teams. Their latest limited conclusion prospect,ATylerAEifert, has the expertise to find yourself in the first round, and probably even the most truly effective 20. Why is this Fighting Irish small end prospect the very best yet? Talents Eifert's mixture of size, ball skills and athleticism make him hard to defend EifertAhas the major body, long arms and soft arms to be always a matchup problem in the passing game for smaller defensive players. He is fast and rapid enough to still create divorce fromAcornerbacks as a broad receiver and fall into line outside, but big enough to still make the catch against them when he doesn't. His human anatomy get a grip on, channels and release from the point are all extensive radio quality.AEifertAis a clutch performer and will be a quarterback's favorite, specially in the red region. Flaws EifertAis a willing blocker, and he's getting better, but he is a wall-off blocker who will maybe not be a as a run- or pass-blocker. He has more of anAoversizedAwide receiver framework and could possibly get pushed around by stronger players in channels. He is not really a substantial athlete with breakaway pace, even though he is a first-round prospect.AEifertAisn't a risk make big gains following the hook. Blocking is not a power, but Eifert may surprise you together with his energy and strength Instruments At 6'5" and 250 pounds, with 33 1/8" hands and a 35.5" vertical,AEifertAis difficult to avoid "above the rim." His 4.60 40 speed is good enough to be a risk on seam routes, and his top-end speed for a small end (4.32 short shuttle, 6.92 three-cone) shows up when he pauses in his routes.AEifertAisn't specifically a Vernon Davis-esque model, but he's a, very good physical package to offer to the professionals. Intangibles/Character Eifert's work to add 40 pounds of muscle and become a better blocker shows his devotion to the overall game. He's a high-effort, intelligent, versatile player. There's nearly zero identity chance here, which makesAEifertAa very safe pick in the first round. Program EifertAcan perform anywhere from in-line small end to separate out wide. Unlike several limited ends, he doesn't only line up in the slot, he lines up at a broad receiver place with a matched up on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Even though he is perhaps not likely to be described as a solid blocker, he is a three-down tight end. Release EifertAisn't extremely fast or intense, but he gets up to speed very quickly out of his release from the in-line limited end position, and he has learned to fight off media coverage when lined up out wide.AEifertAthreatens the protection very quickly into his seam routes and has enough burst in his release to obtain into his routes while losing short amount of time. Tracks EifertAeats up open area with his long stride and good pace, and then creates separation with precise and sharp breaks at the top of his way. He'll use his hands to fight off a cornerback, and he has the pace to become a downfield goal on go routes.AEifertAuses his hands effectively to fight off the jam, so he is hard to re-route or otherwise affect in his route timing. He comes back to the quarterback like a wide receiver and does most of the little things to create himself far better at getting open. Fingers Eifert is a good one, and a natural fingers catcher EifertAis an all natural if the ball arrives, almost always pulling it out from the air together with his hands. His hands are especially gentle at full extension, andAEifert's capability to take in the move doesn't decline when he is working the center of the subject or contested by a defender.AEifert's 9 1/8" hands are also powerful, seldom giving out the party once he gets his mitts on the ball. Ball Skills While he's some excellent tools and intangibles,AEifert's instinctive behavior once the ball is arriving could be the best section of his game. His duration and step time make him almost impossible to defend on 50/50 balls. He knows how exactly to use his human anatomy to shield a defense like aArebounderAgetting position in a basketball game. Eifert's athleticism gives him the capacity to move and conform to errant moves, and overall he's a massive powerful catch radius. He'll fight to hold his ground or gain the spot on a competitive basketball, andAEifertAgenerally figures out a means to do whatever it takes to really make the grab. Even if he's perhaps not open, he is a good target. Follow Find Eifert doesn't have much to supply following the catch, but he's strong and stubborn EifertAisn't likely to hightail it from anybody, and he doesn't have many techniques following the hook in his collection. What he will do is work with power and stubborn resolve following the hook. He's been recognized to bring a tackler on his back, and his balance gives him the ability to get meters after contact.AEifert's smooth gait and substance athleticism also turn to good gains when he can make a catch in the open field. Stopping We'll give him an E for effort in this category.AEifertAcan arrive at a position and neutralize or stalemate his adversary as a run-blocker. While he'll not drive his opponent downfield,AEifertAcan seal an opening by walling off his job. He will get overpowered as a pass-blocker and doesn't look comfortable attempting to stop aAblitzer.AEifertAwill surprise you with some fire in his blocks at times, and annually he's getting, so as a professional he's upside here.

Wayne Rooney on a free of charge? FIFA rejig may allow star buy himself out of Man United... - Mirror.co.uk

Striker will undoubtedly be over 28 and three years into his agreement next summer, meaning he'd meet the requirements to scrap its final year Matthew Peters David Rooney can stop Manchester United just for A12million per year from now, writes the Sunday People. Rooney could become certainly one of the first a' and many high-profile a' people to take advantage of a tightening of FIFA's regulations to be decided in the coming weeks. The England striker may be permitted to buy himself out from the final year of his handle new Premier League champions United, paying the salaries left and making himself available to sign for another team without a fee. That will cost Rooney a fortune but when he might have the Entire World Cup finals as a shop window, he's sure to produce much more as a free agent in the summer of 2014. As he will be over 28 by that point and significantly more than three years into his latest contract, signed in October 2010 after a long argument the former Everton celebrity qualifies. Those are two boxes he has to beat. FIFA are under pressure to clarify their questionable Article 17 rule that allows participants to keep their clubs before their contracts are up. There was a landmark event when Wigan closed Andy Webster from Hearts but that has been changed since and now groups are protected from losing their players a' and could require more money in compensation centered on prior transport fees. But FIFA will evaluate Article 17 in the summer and are expected to rule in preference of the participants. Rooney will undoubtedly be on around A240,000-a-week in his final year at United, so that means a likely A12m buy-out.

Dortmund warms up for Real with get - FOXSports.com

UpdatedAApr 27, 2013 5:00 PM ET Borussia Dortmund heated up for the next leg of these Champions League semifinal with Real Madrid on Tuesday with a gain at Fortuna Dusseldorf. Instructor Jurgen Klopp made 10 changes to the side which had downed Real 4-1 last Wednesday, but the result was still exactly the same, with Nuri Sahin and Jakub Blaszczykowski on target to nearly secure them second place behind Bayern Munich and before Bayer Leverkusen. Fortuna pulled a goal straight back through Adam Bodzek in the 88th second, but it was too little too late as Norbert Meier's area end the weekend level on points with 16th-place Augsburg, forward of the relegation zone only on goal difference with three activities of the growing season to play. Just Mats Hummels lasted from the Dortmund team which beat Real in midweek and the key defender, who was simply making up fit practice following a recent injury shortage, set up Julian Schieber for the first chance, which the striker headed against the post in the 19th moment. Just a minute later, the ball was in the back of the web when Leitner passed to Sahin, who looked up and saw Fabian Giefer off his line and lobbed the ball in from fully 35 yards. Sahin was a consistent threat with set parts, but he was neither in a position to check Giefer, or set up a team mate with a series of free-kicks. Fortuna tried to have right back on terms with Axel Bellinghausen assessment Mitchell Langerak in the minute, but his effort was saved by the Australian goalkeeper. Blaszczykowski was sent on by Klopp in the 69th second and, instantly, he doubled Dortmund's cause, securing onto Sahin's wonderful pass with the outside of his trunk to beat Giefer. Robert Lewandowski was also on the subject for Dortmund, provided just more than 20 minutes to increase his record of getting won in 12 consecutive games. Marco Reus also got on and he almost made it three together with his first touch of the game in the minute, but Giefer made the save. Bodzek gave your home team desire with two minutes to go when he went in Bellinghausen's free-kick, establishing a grandstand finish. Fortuna searched for an while Lewandowski went near making three to it for a Dortmund side who held on to all or any three points in front of their greatest game of the season so far on Tuesday.

Newcastle United left sweating after Liverpool hit six of the best - The Guardian

Alan Pardew would probably prefer not to try to imagine what might have happened if Luis Suárez had played. The Uruguayan's suspension was supposed to make this a routine three points for Newcastle United but, instead of banishing lingering relegation fears, they folded in the face of Philippe Coutinho and friends.

With Coutinho midfield brilliance personified, Daniel Sturridge the striker he has long promised to be and Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing suggesting they were not such bad Anfield buys after all, this was the brightest of spring evenings for Brendan Rodgers but a strong contender for the worst 90 minutes of his good friend Pardew's career.

Newcastle's manager had demanded a performance "worthy of the black-and-white shirt" from his players but, judging by their display, several were evidently wearing earplugs.

The game had barely kicked off when Coutinho set the tone, the 20-year-old Brazilian picking out Glen Johnson on the right with the cutest of passes. The right-back – watched by the England manager, Roy Hodgson – delivered a superb low cross which Sturridge would surely have tapped in but for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa's last-ditch, sliding intervention.

Failing to heed this reprieve, Pardew's defence foolishly stepped out following the half-clearance of a Downing corner. Moving up en masse, they left Rob Elliot horribly isolated and when the ball was looped back into the box by Downing, Daniel Agger, onside and alone in acres of space, duly planted a header well beyond the goalkeeper's grasp.

It quickly got worse for Pardew. Sturridge and Coutinho exchanged passes, the latter sending the striker racing through the middle and drawing Elliot off his line. With the goalkeeper committed, Sturridge unselfishly slipped the ball to Henderson. Arriving at pace, the former Sunderland midfielder seamlessly directed a crisp shot into the back of the net.

Henderson's sudden prominence served to revive unpleasant memories of the 3-0 defeat here by Sunderland a fortnight ago and as the crowd murmured and muttered its discontent, Pardew's increasingly agitated body language painted an uneasy portrait of a man under severe stress.

It was down to their quicker brains and faster feet but it often seemed as if Liverpool possessed an extra player. As Coutinho drifted nonchalantly away from Yohan Cabaye, Pardew shook his head. When Mathieu Debuchy became sucked into a concentration-diverting running dispute with Sturridge he flapped a fist in despair.

An amalgam of anger, frustration and sheer bewilderment was writ large on the Newcastle manager's face because this was a pale imitation of the side who finished fifth last season.

Twelve months ago Pardew was well on the way to coronation as manager of the year but now he was left cursing as James Perch, unmarked and six yards out, headed agonisingly wide when a Liverpool defence generally protected superbly by the excellent Lucas's deep-lying-midfield role was caught cold.

If only that chance had fallen to Papiss Cissé. Instead Pardew's lone striker was rendered virtually ineffective by lack of support from a malfunctioning midfield in which Cheik Tioté looked the faintest shadow of the warrior of old.

It was no surprise when Newcastle re-emerged for the second half with Hatem Ben Arfa – coveted by Liverpool – and Yoan Gouffran on in place of Perch and Jonas Gutiérrez. Tioté, meanwhile, had clearly been instructed to attempt to stick to Coutinho like glue.

The Ivorian, though, had clearly come unstuck and was nowhere to be seen as Coutinho surged forward after seizing on Ben Arfa's concession of possession. Deceiving the desperately back-pedalling Steven Taylor courtesy of an adroit step-over, Newcastle's nemesis dinked the ball to Sturridge. As the former Chelsea striker's rising shot hit the roof of the net Rodgers celebrated goal No3.

Sturridge soon had a second goal. Noting that Newcastle were suddenly holding a very high defensive line, Gerrard unleashed an intelligent long pass which left Henderson played onside by Debuchy and honing in on goal. A neat, highly astute little ball to Sturridge and an ensuing shot later the score became 4-0.

Newcastle's legion of technically accomplished but suddenly brittle and naive-looking French players had surrendered and were staggering around in apparent disbelief.

Next Fabio Borini used his first touch after replacing Gerrard to connect with Downing's delivery before shooting beyond Elliot. Then Debuchy, already booked, was sent off for an awful tackle on Coutinho and five down swiftly turned to six as Henderson's free-kick crept in, unchallenged, at the far post. It prefaced an intense touchline conversation between Pardew and Taylor.

"Going down," sang the Liverpool fans as all round them Newcastle supporters either booed or sat in head-in-hands mode wondering how it had come to this.

United up efforts in race for Lewandowski as Dortmund balk at prospect of ... - Daily Mail

Manchester United will try to exploit the bitter rivalry between German clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund by making a £25million swoop for Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who has trailed Lewandowski for 18 months, says he has new hope of landing the Poland forward, who scored four goals against Real Madrid in the Champions League last week.

United always feared Lewandowski, who has a year left on his deal, would end up at Bayern and reports hinted he had signed a pre-contract agreement.

But, with the German clubs hot favourites to face each other in the Champions League final at Wembley after semi-final first leg wins over Barcelona and Madrid, their rivalry may prevent a move.

Dortmund fans are already up in arms that midfielder Mario Gotze has agreed to join Bayern in the summer after they met a £23m buy-out clause and there is disquiet among the club's hierarchy about the reaction if Lewandowski follows.

He said: 'The Dortmund fans are not going to be happy by what has happened. I don't think the club will sell Lewandowski to Bayern. I think they'll let his contract run out or sell him elsewhere.

Bayern have denied signing an agreement for Lewandowski, whose partnership with current United player Shinji Kagawa was the key to Dortmund winning successive Bundesliga titles before surrendering it to Bayern this season.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Real Madrid: Lewandowski hat trick has Dortmund up 3-1 - SB Nation

Dortmund started the second half off just like their did the first half getting two quick goals from Robert Lewandowski and retaking the lead 3-1.

After a poor clearance attempt by Madrid, the ball was headed just out of the box to Marco Reus who returned the ball right back to Robert Lewandowski who stayed onside before springing past the Madrid back line and poking the ball past Diego Lopez.

Madrid players were furious and you could understand their consternation as it certainly looked offside at full speed. Once we finally got a look at the replays though, they showed the linesman was spot on with the call and Lewandowski had his second goal of the game.

Marcel Schmelzer's cross from the left found the big striker in the Madrid box and Lewa made a fantastic first touch, turned beautifully and chipped a shot up and over Lopez, all while fighting off ff two Madrid defenders, like swatting way a mosquito.

Manchester United Won The EPL Yesterday, And You Have To See Robin Van Persies Title-Winning Hat Trick

Manchester United clinched their 20th English Premier League title yesterday. Robin van Persie helped a bit, chipping in with a hat trick. But as impressive as that was, the more impressive part was his second goal, which we'll show you momentarily. From around midfield, Wayne Rooney sent a perfect, 40-yard-or-so diagonal ball in the air, right to the left foot of van Persie at the top of the box. He drilled home a volley. They made it look easy, but I assure you it was hard. It was so very beautiful. I may have shed many tears.

We'll show you all three goals, because we're generous. If you must skip ahead to the legendary goal itself, skip to 0:32.

Oh yeah, he may have been offsides on all three goals. But if so, only by a fraction. And fractions only matter in school. Actually, fractions never matter.

We implore you to watch the UEFA Champions League semifinals this afternoon, because beautiful things will assuredly occur.

USC's Barkley, 3 other QBs picked in 4th circular

NYC (AP) a' Finally, it was the draft of the quarterback. Saturday's next round of the NFL draft highlighted a shopping spree for indication callers, starting with the opening pick of Southern California's Matt Barkley, taken by Philadelphia following a industry with Jacksonville. Yes, it was three units later than Barkley expected. Same task for Ryan Nassib of Syracuse, Landry Jones of Oklahoma and Tyler Wilson of Arkansas, one other quarterbacks picked early Saturday. "We are likely to get the affordable on the board," coach Chip Kelly said, putting the Eagles ranked Barkley in the most truly effective 50. "There is a perfect example. The most effective price on the table by far was Matt. He's an exceptionally mature son, clever, articulate. He's that 'it' factor." Perhaps. But he seemed to have a lot more of it this past year. Barkley was projected as a first-round selection this past year, but opted to come back to school. He and the Trojans slumped, his shoulder was injured by Barkley, and his stock plummeted. "I try not to have stressed about things I can not control," Barkley explained when asked about his drop in the draft. "I am just glad I could not wait to hit the playbook." and I know where my home is He'll join quarterbacks Michael Vick and Nick Foles in Philadelphia. System v Manchester United: play more, report more: Robin van Persie's basic... - Telegraph.co.uk

Fundamentally, that is what has happened over the past few years, firstly with Arsenal and latterly with Manchester United. In managing in order to avoid the therapy desk, the problem of his start, Van Persie has flourished in amazing manner to be a centre-forward of top notch stature. Once the young Dutchman and who would have predicted that straight back, say, in 2005 was being groomed at Arsenal as Dennis Bergkampas heir? That intended playing the Noa10 part just off the main striker, packing the bullets as a experienced playmaker. His future seemed mapped out. The same as Bergkamp, he would perhaps not be going in a year to forty goals but he may be establishing that numerous along with his innovative passing. Funny how things can prove. Because when ArsAne Wenger, in the absence of something better, set him up top as an orthodox striker, the lad grasped the nettle like he had been playing there all his life. The business enterprise of leading the line, holding up the ball with his back once again to perform, time his runs in behind a' material much different from the requirements of a deeper-lying creator a' all came rather naturally. Van Persie quickly made right into a completely different player. What's more, I believe he's developed even more previously year. Possibly impressed by the task of impressing new team-mates, his common game has sharpened up in terms of connecting the play and combining with others. His action in the field also improved as he stumbled on terms with a different type of support. System, for example, didn't have a winger very like Antonio Valencia, a person who bases his game on crossing the ball at the first opportunity. It did not simply take miss Van Persie to suss that one out, just like he rapidly adjusted to Michael Carrickas passing and Wayne Rooneyas setting. That boils down to soccer intelligence. Undertake some progresses it floor and the most truly effective people do not need telling twice. Another exciting stat is the one regarding dribbles, the fact Van Persie doesn't undertake therefore many nowadays. Can it be that he doesn't want to accomplish all of it by himself? He is pleased to allow the team do the speaking rather than the individual? Approaching 30, perhaps he feels it wise to play a more economical game, when one or two touches are usually enough. They're, also, if your touches are noise and your action sharp. Oh, and your finishing as life-threatening as Unitedas Noa20.

Brandon Albert Is Not the Solution for Miami Dolphins

This has now opened up a huge void on the Dolphins' offensive line, as well as suggestions that the Dolphins might explore a trade.

Adam Schefter of ESPN, reported earlier last week that Kansas City were in trade talks with the Miami Dolphins, following Brandon Albert's decision to sign his franchise tender.

Brandon Albert is due $9 million this year, and while the Dolphins have enough money to sign Albert, they weren't willing to pay big money to Jake Long.

Albert, like Long, had injury problems over the last year, where he was troubled by a back injury for most of November and December. In addition, Albert , at 28, is one year older the Long.

While it's unlikely that money was Long's sole motivation for moving to St Louis, his decision to leave suggests Miami weren't willing to part with big money for him.

If that's the case, then why would they pay even more to sign Albert, who is one year his senior, and also had injury concerns last year?

And equally vocal about not wanting to move to right tackle to accommodate a rookie on the left side, resulting in him shutting down his Twitter account.

There is nothing to suggest Albert doesn't give his all on the training ground or the gridiron, but "outspoken" is hardly a desirable character trait in Philbin's locker room.

Jeff Ireland has done a good job stockpiling picks for this year's Draft. Although it wouldn't be a shock to trade a pick for a player in a draft which is stacked with solid tackles, it hardly seems sensible.

If Miami wanted to give up a second-round pick, as ESPN reported, then why not give up a second and trade up in the draft to pick one of the top-three tackles?

Luke Joeckel may be out of reach, but Eric Fisher and Lane Johnson could be achievable goals. They would not only reinforce the Dolphins' youth movement, but would also come at a fraction of the price of Albert—without medical or character question marks.

The cost of getting Albert seems very high, and considering the strong draft class, surely taking a young tackle makes more sense if the Front Office are uncomfortable with Martin protecting Ryan Tannehill's blindside.

In the end, the move not only looks like one that Miami shouldn't make, it also resembles a move that Miami won't make.

And don't forget, the Dolphins were linked with trading a second-round pick for Ravens' tight end, Dennis Pitta, late last week.

Names Makina Dream Baseball News: Brett Lawrie To The DL, Vernon Wells To The Yankees

Lawrie to the DL Proving that no place is too strong in Fantasy football, Brett Lawrie is the season will be started by the latest third baseman who on the disabled list. He suffered a rib muscle and left intercostal muscle during a World Baseball Classic scrimmage in early March. The Blue Jays introduced on Monday he'd start the growing season on the disabled list. Fellow next basemen Chase Headley (broken thumb) and David Wright (strained intercostal muscle) also encountered WBC incidents. Hanley Ramirez, who has Fantasy membership at both 3B and Wairuna, also suffered a injury in WBC action; he will miss very nearly two months to start the summer season. Wright is the just one who appears to be prepared for the beginning of the period. Lawrie had just started to play catch last week and expected to find yourself in spring education games early this week. His DL stint should not be looked at as a setback, fundamentally, but an acknowledgement that heall need time and energy to return into baseball condition. Though an early-season recession when he returns wouldnat surprise us, a lengthy absence would not be expected by us. Lawrie has an Average Draft Position of 74 this spring in National Fantasy Baseball Championship leagues, the eighth next baseman off the board. Owners clearly have been reluctant to write him and his ADP would be expected by us to fall now, to perhaps around 90. He'll be a perfect pick for a Corner Infield area, giving an owner good detail at the warm place, with a lot of first baseman to select from as well. Last season, the 23-year-old Lawrie struck.273 for Toronto with 11 HRs and 48 RBI in his first full season. Provided the Blue Jaysa wholesale changes in the off-season a' and this injury a' Lawrie should like a low-pressure time with tempered expectations. While we wouldnat assume a breakout year, we know that if heas healthy, he brings great possibility of value. While Lawrie is injured, we'd assume the 28-year-old Emilio Bonifacio to inherit at-bats. Itas likely Bonifacio might play 2B while Maicer Izturis slides up to next, where he played 30 games last season. Bonifacio has 50 SB potential every single day if he plays. With a strong OF of Melky Cabrera, Colby Rasmus and Edwin Encarnacion plus Jose Bautista at DH, Bonifacio may need to make his living on the IF this season. He enjoyed CF in 51 of his 64 games a season ago. Last time he hit.258 with 1 HR, 11 RBI and 30 SBs in 244 ABs. Bonifacio could be the 58th OF being picked, typically, according to NFBC. His ADP is 217, about where he goes considering he will maybe not see IF membership straight away in several leagues. If your category guidelines qualify him at 2B, or have a low games-played qualifying number, you ought to move him up your draft sheets, but do not achieve or overbid for him. He will give some list flexibility for you personally and must be a nice player to plug in on your own startersa days off. Yankees Obtain Vernon Wells The Vernon-Wells-to-the-Yankees trade includes every little thing a a name, two big cities, vast amounts, contractual requirements, and array changes. It also carries the potential to shake up some Fantasy baseball drafts, particularly in AL-only leagues. Of course, Wells stands to see significantly more playing amount of time in the short term. He's assumed to compete with the recently-signed Brennan Boesch in left field, joining Brett Gardner and Ichiro Suzuki in the Yankees OF. The Yankees will have a logjam of possibilities at first base and designated hitter. Juan Rivera, after the presumed substitute in the Yankees outfield for Curtis Granderson, is likely to see significant playing time; rookie Kevin Youkilis can also be a choice at 1B while young speedster Eduardo Nunez consumes 3B. Travis Hafner is slated as the Yankees DH, but he is more likely to generate ABs to Rivera, Boesch and Nunez at DH as the Yankees try various combinations early in the season. Wells was section of a packed outfield blend in Anaheim with Mike Trout, Peter Bourjos and Josh Hamilton and didn't figure to stay the selection every single day. Wells hasn't been written much this spring, with an Average Draft Position (ADP) of 498 in National Fantasy Baseball Championship leagues. As a beginning outfielder for the Yankees, Wells will be chosen late in many breezes. His playing time last year was restricted due to a mid-season thumb injury. General, he struck.249 with 14 HR and 38 RBI in 289 at bats for the Angels. At age 34, he in impossible to boost much, but a full season at full strength might make him Fantasy-relevant again. Mark Teixeira stands to miss a significant part of the season with an arm injury. The membership is waiting to determine if Teixeira needs surgery on his hand, which would put him out for the summer season. Nunez has changed into a common individual pick in drafts; in National Fantasy Baseball Championship drafts he's being taken, an average of, at amount 364. He must be drafted much earlier as the Yankees were desperate to find him playing time even before any of their spring injuries occurred. The Wells trade, nevertheless, might have more regarding shortstop than every other situation. Membership management recently indicated that SS Derek Jeter may have to open the season on the disabled list after off-season surgery for a broken ankle. If the club wants him to miss a good amount of time, the Wells trade provides a lot more than adequate insurance. If Jeter begins the entire year on the disabled list his position would be filled by Nunez while Rivera and Youk perform third and first, respectively. Those people who have picked Jeter, Nunez, Rivera and Boesch need certainly to stay tuned in to the tale, while Wells might now create a great waiver line state or late draft pick.

Elvis Dumervil Signing Gives Ravens' Super Bowl Repeat Campaign a Huge Boost

The legendary statuses of Ed Reed and Ray Lewis will never be replaced in Baltimore, but that doesn't mean the Ravens aren't capable of defending their Super Bowl title next season.

The acquisition of Elvis Dumervil was a signing helped by fate, and it's one, coupled with the other under-the-radar signings made by general manager Ozzie Newsome this offseason, that will be provide a major boost to the team's Super Bowl repeat campaign.

On occasion, his smaller stature is the reason why he's engulfed by mammoth offensive tackles. But most of the time, his low center-of-gravity helps him bend around the edge and makes it extremely difficult for those same left and right tackles to reach down to control him at the point of attack.

Upon the snap, the Broncos pass-rusher demonstrated a decent burst and was met by the right tackle at the corner. But due to his unrelenting will, deceptive strength and especially his lack of ideal height, notice how Clary was forced to reach and almost lunge at Dumervil when attempting to make contact.

Clary is not balanced, therefore Dumervil was able to use violent hand work to move past him en route to Philip Rivers.

Instead of simply dragging Rivers to the turf or sizing up a highlight-reel hit, Dumervil slapped the ball out of Rivers' hand, which forced a game-changing fumble.

Without question, Dumervil is a pass-rushing specialist. However, just because he's more proficient getting after the quarterback than he is stuffing the run, doesn't mean he's not valuable.

Actually, Dumervil isn't totally lost when it comes to setting the edge and staying fundamentally sound against the run.

In the same game, Dumervil displayed his discipline on a toss to the left that was supposed to look like a power run to right.

Instead of over-pursuing, the Louisville product set what initially appeared to be the backside edge and was quick enough to cut off Ryan Mathews before the running back could turn the corner.

He has accumulated 63.5 sacks in six professional seasons and 91 games, and, actually, his 52 combined tackles and six forced fumbles in 2012 were career highs.

However, as an ideal complement to the physically imposing Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil will play a vital role in the Ravens successfully turning the chapter from the Reed and Lewis era and making a run to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

After dropping to the Swans in the Capital One Cup semifinals in a line that saw Eden Hazard slapped with a card after his infamous sideline party with a at the Liberty Stadium on Nov. 3 in the 2nd leg, the Blues is going to be truly be on their best behavior. But the really big motivating component here for third-place Chelsea (18-8-7, 62 points) against ninth-place Swansea (10-12-11) will undoubtedly be looking to get the gain and the three points as the three big London clubs jockey for position heading down the homestretch in search of these two valuable Champions League qualifying areas still up for grabs in the English Premier League. Fifth-place Tottenham Hotspur (18-7-8, 61 points) is likely to be at Wigan Athletic on Saturday (Fox Soccer Channel 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT) while third-place Arsenal (18-9-7, 63 points) can host group winners Manchester United on Sunday (Fox Soccer Channel 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT). The Swans and manager Michael Laudrup enter on a winless streak (0-2-3) and for Swansea, concluding in the very best half the table when it is all said and done is its stated purpose. On offense, the Swans have very nearly been a one-man band this year with Michu (17 goals) scoring 40 per cent of the club's 43 category goals entering this showdown with the soon-to-be former European champions. Jonathan De Guzman (5 goals), Luke Moore (3) and Nathan Dyer (3) would be the next three leading scorers for the initial Welsh group actually in England's top flighta'though they'll be joined by fellow countrymen Cardiff City next time after the Bluebirds won the npower ChampionshipAand acquired campaign early in the day this month. So hang on tight Crystal Palace (Eagles), Leeds United (Peacocks), Nott's County (Magpies), Brighton & Hove Albion (Seagulls), Sheffield United (Owls), Bristol City, Swindon Town, Altrincham, Charlton Athletic and Cheltenham Town (All nicknamed Robins), there's still a cure for you. In purpose for the Swans, 29-year-old Dutch global Michel Vorma'who has been connected to possible summer goes to ArsenalAand Barcelona, but refused a rumored move to Liverpool the other day based on the Daily Mirrora'has had a solid period (six clear sheets), but must really be at his best here against a keen Chelsea part. Cash One Cup winners Swansea have now been pretty poor away from home (4-5-7, 15 goals for, 19 goals against), but Vorm and the Swans were defensive enough to generate a draw against the Blues in the team's EPL meeting on Nov. 3 at Liberty Stadium. With so much at stake, the dynamic duo of Juan Mata (10 goals, 12 assists in EPL) and Eden Hazard (nine goals, nine assists) will surely maintain the Blues advanced midfield behind either striker Ba or Fernando Torres. And with the seemingly always-on Petr Aech in purpose, slightly more luck due its way and the strong home-field advantage, a way should be found by Chelsea to top the instantly anemic Swans in this one. Arsenal & Tottenham Hotspur striker target set for showdown talks - GiveMeFootball.com

QPR manager Harry Redknapp is hoping to keep Loic Remy at the club this summer, despite attention from both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. The French global forward has scored five goals in twenty games for the Hoops this period, having arrived in west London from Marseille for A8million in the January exchange screen. Redknapp thinks the 26-year-old could score 20 goals in the full Premier League time if given the chance, but realises QPR mightn't be the team to enjoy such benefits. And, the former Spurs employer admits series talks are about the corner, with a relegation growing large at Loftus Road. "He is a person I think could score 20 targets in the Premier League in a complete year. Heas our primary goalscorer and heas just played a handful of activities. Wead prefer to hold him but weall need certainly to sit back and see what his plans are," said Redknapp, according to talkSPORT. The radio station promises equally the Gunners and Tottenham Hotspur have been associated with a for Remy in the past, and that the player will not wish to drop down seriously to the Championship - probably opening the entranceway for a summer move. Arsenal are relatively lacking attacking alternatives at the Emirates Stadium, with Olivier Giroud the only out-an-out striker open to Arsene Wenger. And, as this week has proved, an injury or suspension to the Frenchman leaves the Gunners lacking alternatives, with either Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski or Gervinho more likely to fill in up-front against Manchester United on Sunday. Spurs also have limited possibilities in assault, with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor the main options available to Andre Villas-Boas. Remy would likely add an extra dimension to the strike at White Hart Lane, but Tottenham Hotspur will know from previous experiences that signing this player is any such thing but easy.

High Hopes for Wanderers' Promotion

With the season three games from visiting an end, the atmosphere have been electrified by the possibility of the playoffs at the Reebok. After a disappointing 3-2 loss to Leicester this past Tuesday, the Wanderers have let go of these number six spot and (hopefully, simply for a short time) let go of their spot in the playoffs. A win within the last two games (Cardiff and Blackpool) would certainly provide Bolton a fair shot at redeeming their number six place, and maybe even greater. If the Wanderers manage to take that off, including an alarming make an impression on Cardiff, the number one team in the Championship, the problem is, are the Wanderers really prepared to be promoted? Marketing is nothing bad. I am sure whatever your thoughts are towards the health and experience of the team, everybody would be more than very happy to be offered back in the Premier League. Nevertheless the real fear on my head is how well would this group ticket? With Coyle gone and Dougie Freedman making the changes we have all been dying to see, will the next year in the Premier League conclusion like our last? Hopefully maybe not. Freedman is what I'd well call a god-send. Before he arrived, I was looking to get comfy in the Championship. His instruction has certainly been a "breath of new air" and hopefully it's one that brings us back once again to the very best. Freedman himself is confident the Wanderers' consistent performance will certainly conclude with a playoff berth. It'll be a difficult job to reach having an ever-growing listing of season-ending accidents, but I am sure Stu Holden's return could compensate for that, at least partly. Being endorsed would give the team more challenges and see how his teaching ways work against a number of teams. The bit doesn't be wanted by plus, who of fame that comes with being promoted? On the flip side, I'd not be disappointed if we didn't make it to the playoffs as well as if we made it and subsequently lost. I'm a believer in being a solid team and I think that another year in the Championship changing to a new teaching staff and understanding how to play as a whole unit would benefit us. Of when we remained course, I had assume total domination of the installation table. My only problem with maybe not being offered will be that we will enter into a slump of just continually finding yourself falling just each year-and to short I do believe before it even happens once it's more straightforward to cut that out being an selection. I want the staff to be consistently challenged and not only slack off, where we lose the drive to get in general because that is. In either case I see it, I will need what is best for the squad so long as by the end of the afternoon we are growing, winning and becoming a standard better group. When everybody is finally healthy and playing at the amount we know (and expect) they can play, I believe that regardless of what group we result in, this group will undoubtedly be one that's difficult to overcome.

Adam Scott Wins the 2013 Owners

In a Masters that was filled up with applying for grants the rules of golf, at the end of the time, his 1st major championship was won by Adam Scott in a way to start the 2013 major year. AIt took a with Angel Cabrera, but Scott, the first Aussie to gain the green hat, played wonderful golf for 4 rounds through the entire tournament. ASadly, it'll perhaps not function as complete history from the 2013 Masters. Do lines help or harm? Just like the one Nadal is on today.

Would not wise practice dictate NOT holding that extra pressure when you have a much larger fish to fry - to correct significant juice that can stand the test of time? to do, particularly Miami Heat (NBA) were recently on a winning streak threatening the all-time record of 33 set by Lakers in 1972. Once it was snapped, most people on the staff indicated reduction as it helped them to target on greater fish of winning the Championship with much more single-mindedness than what the streak was 'allowing.' Unless Nadal has entirely abadndoned the larger fish called 17, you cannot help but think about the stress a burden instead of any help. You might also need to factor in the injury break of 7 weeks to completely appreciate the substantial importance these tournaments before Roland Garros suddenly think - without the streak. Ability makes it that much more challenging to absorb losing and compartmentalize it with enough separation never TO impact what happens on the large point in France. Another whammy is just added by it to what a loss would involve under typical conditions. How Boston Celtics Can Save Themselves from Postseason Disaster

Following a crushing 105-103 loss to the Miami Heat on March 18, the Celtics haven't quite been the same. It's almost as if head coach Doc Rivers figured his team could simply roll into the playoffs in cruise control.

Since the heat game, Boston has stumbled to a 5-12 record. Furthermore, the team is just 1-10 against opponents with a winning record.

Sure, resting key players heading into the postseason is always a wise move. But whether or not it's in the best interest of the team is a different story.

For a team already short-staffed due to injuries, the Celtics required all the help they could get every night—no matter who they were playing. So, by sitting out Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, Rivers had to know he was essentially damning his squad to defeat.

In the playoffs, it's all about "What have you done for me lately?" The hottest teams coming in tend to have the most success.

Without him, the team becomes completely vulnerable inside the paint and the entire defense collapses. Even defensive phenomenon Avery Bradley can't do anything about it.

Although Garnett was active during the first two games of Boston's first-round series with the New York Knicks, his play would suggest otherwise. He's averaged just 10 points on 8-of-21 (38.1 percent) shooting over 30.5 minutes per game.

Garnett has also been taken advantage of on the defensive end, picking up five fouls in each contest. It's the first time he's picked up that many in consecutive games since 2010.

Dealing with foot inflammation, Garnett missed 10 of the Celtics final 13 regular season games. Furthermore, in the three contests he did play, he was pretty much ineffective—12.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists over 23.3 minutes per game.

In 1,946 minutes with him on the bench this season, the Celtics have posted a defensive rating of 104.6 while allowing opponents 100.7 points per game on 45.2 percent shooting. On the other hand, in 2,022 minutes with him on the court, the team has a defensive rating of 96.2 while allowing opponents just 89.1 points per game on 42.9 percent shooting.

In Boston's case, there wasn't much to worry about. The team ranked 16th in the league with 33 points per game from its reserves. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it wasn't to be ignored, either.

But with how they closed out the season, the Celtics bench looked to be one of the team's strongest weapons heading into the postseason.

Over the final 10 games, Boston's reserves averaged 37.7 points per game. They topped the 30-point mark eight times during that span.

During the two games, the Celtics bench has been pretty nonexistent, averaging just 11.5 points per game on 7-of-25 (28 percent) shooting. That includes a Game 1 performance where they failed to hit a single field goal, only scoring four points on free throws.

One possible reason could be the recent promotion of Jeff Green into the team's starting lineup. Green averaged 12.8 points per game during the season but took his game to another level during the second half.

In his absence, the leadership role off the bench falls to Jason Terry. Unfortunately, the 35-year-old is having one of the worst years of his career.

Through 79 games, Terry has averaged just 10.1 points and 2.5 assists over 26.9 minutes per game. He's also shooting just 43.4 percent from the floor and 37.2 percent from beyond the arc.

In six games, Terry averaged 8.5 points and 2.7 assists over 25 minutes per game. He also shot 37.5 percent from the field and just 29.2 percent from downtown.

Against New York, Terry has been even worse, averaging just 4.5 points per game on 3-of-13 (23.1 percent) shooting. Furthermore, he's only managed to score in two of eight quarters.

In NBA history, when the home team wins the first two games of the series, they've gone on to advance 94.4 percent of the time. In general, only 15 teams have ever come back from such a deficit.

The team needs to focus on its positives—holding the Knicks to under 42-percent shooting in both games—and work to improve on its shortcomings.

It was just last year when the Heat took a 2-0 advantage into Boston in the Eastern Conference finals. Not only did the Celtics win both home contests, but they also snuck away with a Game 5 victory in Miami.

When Will a Group Besides Barcelona and Real Madrid Get La Liga? - Bleacher Report

It last occurred in the 2003-04 period. After looking Real Madrid for some of the year, Rafael Benitez's Valencia stormed five things away from Barcelona to summary the Manhattan project Liga title. Madrid dropped to last and were pipped by way of a Deportivo Manhunter Coruna side at the level of its powers. An exceptional group with Santiago Canizares, Ruben Baraja, Vicente and Pablo AimarAalso went on to win the UEFA Cup for Valencia, suggesting years of prominence were prepared to start at the Mestalla. Very nearly ten years later, Valencia still waits for its next name. Somewhat worryingly, so does any club that doesn't hold the name Barcelona or Real Madrid. Ten months have done since Benitez defined himself as you of the world's most beautiful teaching prospects. True Madrid have racked up three Manhattan project Liga games since then. Barcelona have gathered five. In a few months' time, make that six. Such visibility forces anyone to ask the question: When will a group besides Barcelona or Real Madrid win La Liga? Hell, when will a team other than both of these complete runner-up? Since Valencia's win, just one side has toppled Barcelona or Real Madrid in the category. A stunning '07-'08 plan saw Villarreal finish second and 10 points free from the Catalan giants. The likes of Nihat Kahveci, Giuseppi Rossi and a Santi Cazorla helped the Valencian team to a fantastic finisha'just four years before the team was directed. Numerous costumes show potential of challenging the utmost effective two. Sevilla were just five details behind Real Madrid and Barcelona at the '06-'07 season's conclusion that saw Madrid take the title on head-to-head activities. Despite landing two UEFA Cup awards between '06 and '08, Sevilla never had enough capacity to over come the titans of Spanish football. Equally, Atletico Madrid seized the Europa League in '09-'10 and '11-'12, but have not been able to fall the irritating twosome towards the top. Malaga's cash-injection since June 2010 showed great promise. Prominent signings including Ruud van Nistelrooy, Santi Cazorla and Jeremy Toulalan highlighted the squad's potential for success. A fourth-place finish still saw Malaga some 42 items off Barcelona's 100-point whole, but progress was there for all to see. Until, obviously, the club part ways were seen by major debts with many important persons. Actually Athletic Bilbao, a team that took the Europa League by storm in '11-'12, have did not considerably problem on the domestic front. With the evidence that important forward Fernando Llorente is defined to participate Juventus in June 2013, it seems that little interest of success has ended (via The Guardian). With one of these cases at heart, answering our initial problem becomes a lot trickier. As Lionel Messi's mathematical performance shows, he's an integrated section of Barcelona's success. The same could be claimed for Cristiano Ronaldo, who also contributes in not exactly half Real Madrid's goals. With these two players dominating the world stage, can it be even feasible for another group to clinch the La Liga championship? It seems impossible. Even so, players including Radamel Falcao, Isco and Alvaro Negredo prove the following subset of groups have personal quality. Below them, Ruben Castro, Piti and a lot more suggest La Liga is full of fit champions. It is only Falcao who will constantly persuade grab the win for his staff, even though these types of players might help jot up three things. The true difficult prospect is this: Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have made plenty of errors in the exchange market. High-profile signings including Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas, Kaka and Luka Modric have did not make the effect expected. These mistakesa'if you are able to really call them thata'have rarely registered as a result of over all quality of each squad. Prolonged success hasn't only increased Barcelona and Real Madrid as world wide models. It has heralded a time of baseball that's described by individual icons. Much like Diego Maradona and Pele, we have Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Next up, international superstar Neymar probably will come to an end in another of the famous shirts (via The Daily Mail). If Neymar doesn't arrive, maybe it's Gareth Bale (via The Daily Mirror). These storylines may appear farfetched at this time, but they underline the notion that Barcelona and Real Madrid work on an alternative degree compared to the rest of La Liga. They could afford to make bad techniques without effect. The FIFA Financial Fair Play Rules may possibly control crazy spending (see: Kaka), but both clubs continue to develop financially. New thrashings in the Champions League could have many gossiping in regards to the drop of Spanish football in European terms. It's exceedingly unlikely Barcelona and Real Madrid will slip up so greatly that yet another staff wins Manhunter Liga in the near future, while this can prove to be true. Positive, a lesser side may nip in to 2nd, but a combination of individual brilliance, group range and great savings suggests both groups may share the Spanish tournament for years to come. When will every other staff win Manhunter Liga? At the current time, probably "will any team get Manhattan project Liga" is the more sufficient question. Can you believe a part besides Barcelona or Real Madrid may win Manhattan project Liga in the long run? Let me know in the comments section below and be sure to follow me on Twitter right here:

Kobe Bryant Should Be Allowed to Use Twitter During Lakers Games

The 2013 NBA Playoffs have been none too kind to the Los Angeles Lakers thus far, as they managed just 79 points in a Game 1 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. While the Lakers were struggling on the floor, injured shooting guard Kobe Bryant was on Twitter.

During Game 1, Kobe had no shortage of comments to make about the action he was witnessing. Whether he was demanding Pau Gasol get more touches in the post or wishing for someone to step up and defend Tony Parker, we heard it all.

Due to his torn Achilles tendon, Bryant is not on the court with the Lakers and instead relegated to the comfort of his own home. In turn, Kobe has hit his couch, grabbed a television remote, turned on the game and taken to Twitter.

Geoff Ketchum of OrangeBloods.com quickly responded by claiming, "Quitting is for losers." There's no telling if that connected with Kobe or not.

Truth be told, this is far from an issue that should take center stage during as momentous an occasion as the 2013 NBA Playoffs. In fact, the fact that an NBA player is on Twitter shouldn't even crack the top 25 of things to know about the postseason.

Everything that Bryant said on Twitter is what coach D'Antoni should have been saying to his players. Whether it was demanding more plays coming out of the post or telling Pau Gasol to demand the ball, Bryant was spot on with his evaluation.

After all, Gasol and Dwight Howard did combine for 36 points and 31 rebounds, while the rest of the team tallied 43 points and 13 rebounds collectively.

As for the potential for this becoming a distraction, I'm not quite clear how that can be. If the Lakers are playing while Kobe is tweeting, there should be no possible way for the players or the coaching staff to see what Bryant is saying.

With this in mind, there is no separation of Kobe from the average fan who takes to Twitter to voice their opinions. While Bryant may have a larger fanbase than the common user, he's also taking to Twitter to offer words of support and analysis.

The only difference between his tweets and his in-game words is that Kobe can't hit a game-winning three to prove he's right.

Manchester United agree yet another sponsorship deal - The Independent

Manchester United's drive to seek all possible forms of revenue shows no signs of abating after the club announced that they have agreed a two-year deal with Japanese company gloops.

The agreement will allow the Japanese company the right to create and distribute a statistical-based battle card social game in Japan.

It is just the latest in a string of deals that the Glazer-family owned club have struck in recent months. Revenues from sponsorship have increased significantly as a result with United's policy of splitting up sponsorship rights on a territory-by-territory basis credited for the rise.

Earlier this month, a deal was agreed with American insurance company Aon for around £10-£20m a year which included handing over the naming rights to their Carrington training ground, while just this week a deal with a Vietnam bank was announced.

While the club are sponsored by household brands such as Nike, the club also has partners that are perhaps not so familiar.

Among the club's varied official partners are Mister Potato - the 'Official Savoury Snack Partner', Kansai Paint - the 'Official Paint Partner', Mamee - the 'Official Noodles Partner of Manchester United for Asia, Oceania and Middle East' and Globul - the 'Official Telecommunications parter of Manchester United in Bulgaria'.

Manchester United commercial director Richard Arnold said at today's launch event for this latest deal: "Our partnership with gloops is a first for the club and we are delighted that they are now part of the Manchester United family".

Critical Keys for NY Knicks Heading into the Postseason

The New York Knicks are about to finish their best regular season in over a decade, and that came and went in typical Knicks rollercoaster fashion.

Highlighted by a scorching 18-5 start and just as sizzling a 15-2 finish, New York's 2012-13 campaign was weighed down a bit by an incredibly mediocre 20-21 mid-section. The team was exposed over that period thanks primarily to injury troubles, but we learned a lot about what makes this unit work when they were at their worst.

Felton's overall numbers on the season won't blow anyone away—14 points and 5.5 assists on 43-percent shooting—but what's extremely telling is the disparity of those numbers in wins and losses.

In Knicks' victories, Felton shoots a better-than-average 45 percent from the field, and 39 percent from beyond the arc. When New York comes out on the losing end, Felton's shooting line drops to 39 percent from the field and a miserable 28 percent three-point clip.

Turning to efficiency numbers, Felton sports an impressive plus-16.1 net rating in victories and a troublesome minus-15 in losses. His assist-to-turnover ratio is nearly cut in half from wins to losses.

Felton possesses a great ability to penetrate the lane for attempts at the basket, but tends to blow layups at a frustratingly high rate. This issue only exacerbates into New York defeats.

The numbers tell the tale here. When Raymond Felton plays adequately, the Knicks will usually win. The team can't afford any poor play from their starting point guard this postseason.

Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls perhaps phrased it the best when he said (via the Chicago Tribune) that although Carmelo Anthony is a "great" player, it's possible to "get in his head a little bit."

The same can be said for the Knicks as a whole: If you put them in a position where they're down, there's a decent chance they won't get up.

Even with the veteran leadership on the Knicks in Jason Kidd, Rasheed Wallace and others, the team has still managed to suffer through mental lapses in times of adversity.

Here's a clip from a November matchup against the Houston Rockets of Anthony at his worst. When 'Melo is struggling to draw whistles, he won't shy away from letting officials hear it. And as great as Carmelo is, he tends to let his frustrations hamper his play.

Anthony didn't get the foul, decided to contest the call instead of the breakaway layup and was whistled for a technical foul.

This same sort of mental weakness was seen against New York's first-round playoff opponent Boston Celtics back in January.

Although the two have apparently put their differences aside, odds are tempers will flare eventually when the stakes are at their highest. It'll be important for every Knick—especially 'Melo—to refrain from confrontation, as it usually spells poor execution. That Boston game was likely Anthony's worst of the season—he shot 6-of-26 with just three rebounds that night.

Over the years we've grown familiar with Good J.R. Smith and Bad J.R. Smith. But in the last month, we've seen a player we've never seen before—Smart J.R. Smith.

Smith has ceased settling for excessive jump shots and has been using his incredible athletic ability to get to the rim and finish strong. Below is a chart of Smith's shot distributions through the first 65 games, as opposed to the last 15.

Just 16 percent of Smith's shots came at the basket through game 65, but that number has ballooned to 35 percent over his last 15.

Smith's attempts at the rim have increased from a mere 16 percent through 65 games to 35 percent in his recent hot streak.

His field-goal percentage was a sub-par 40 percent before his offensive renaissance took place. Over his last 15 contests, however, he's a remarkable 51 percent from the field, including 39 percent from three-point range.

Smith's used his mid-range game more effectively in this time as well. Through his first 65, J.R. shot just 40 percent on mid-range attempts, but that clip has blown up to 52 percent since March 20.

Since that date, he's logged a huge 23.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. His net-rating of 13.5 would place him third league-wide if it was his full-season mark.

If it wasn't certain before, it is now: Smith will win the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award, and deservingly so after he's changed his unreliable ways for the sake of the team.

New York needs to bank on J.R. holding true to his new mindset. The team is 14-1 in those 15 games, which is due in large part to Smith's revitalization.

As long as Bad J.R. stays far away from the Garden floor, the Knicks have a shot at making a run against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

NFL Draft 2013 TELEVISION Coverage: Where and When to Look At 1st-Round Activity

After weeks of waiting, the 2013 NFLAdraft is finally here. Countless football-starved fans will undoubtedly be tuning in on their TVs to soak in the first-round activity on Thursday, April 25. If this year'sAextravaganzaAis any such thing like last year's, it will certainly require numerous investments. Unlike last year's draft, it is unlikely that a quarterback will soon be selected in the very first number of picks, but, but that should not diminish this year's class. Offensive and defensive linemen dominate the top of the board, but these men are just as important to a team's success than the usual quarterback is. Here's what you need to find out to ensure you do not miss a minute of the action. When: Thursday, April 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET Where: Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY TV: ESPN and NFL System Streaming: NFL.com Biggest Storylines for Round 1 Who Will Function as First Man Down the Board? It's a widely held opinion that the Kansas City Chiefs can draft one of the top offensive fights with the first pick of the draft. Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher are both remarkable prospects who have the ability to make a sudden andApositive influence as starting left tackles. ESPN's Adam Schefter won't be surprised if those two men find yourself going No. 1 and No. 2 overall: Actually, the Chiefs can't fail with either person. Listen in on Thursday evening to see which they choose. Can Manti Te'o Be Drafted in Round 1? Te'o is among the most recognizable and polarizing people in this year's draft. He is also among the most decorated school players in history, but there's no guarantee he will be selected in the first round. With normal athleticism and speed, Te'o will really be described as a strong player at the next level, but he's not the type of active athlete we have seen dominate the heart of the field lately. NFL Films master Greg Cosell recently answered questions about the draft and touched on Te'o, saying: I think Manti Teao will be a stable NFL player and weall end there...I think heas most readily useful in a confined place. There have been numerous linebackers that have been better leads appearing out of school than Manti Teao, if you look straight back over recent years. I think heall find yourself having a very good NFL profession and heall be a strong, good player.A But, I don't think heall ever be spoken about being an effect defender. There is a good chance Cosell isn't the only real talent evaluator with this view. According to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel,Aone hunt said,A"We have type of taken him down the board." It'll be interesting to observe how this plays from draft day. Which High-risk People Is Going To Be Chosen Early? A year ago, a big gamble was taken by the Kansas City Chiefs on Dontari Poe, who blew scouts away by having an impressive workout at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine. From the purely physical standpoint, Poe had the various tools to rule the trenches, but he was fresh and didn't produce well in college. It remains to be seen if Poe can become the player the Chiefs thought he had grow into when he was selected, but to this point, the team hasn't gotten a good return for the investment. There are certainly a few people like Poe who could possibly be chosen early in this year's draft, even though they've limited experience and/or production. Ezekiel Ansah, Dion Jordan, Barkevious Mingo and Margus Hunt certainly are a few defenders who might be overdrafted centered on potential. All have freakish running abilities, but there is no assurance these abilities will read well in the NFL. On the side of the ball, Cordarrelle Patterson has jaw-dropping physical traits, but his game is definately not finished. Chances are, at the very least a number of these men will be selected early in Round 1, and it will maybe not be alarming if them all are chosen prior to the round is on Thursday evening. Follow me on Twitter @JesseReed78Aand don't forget to check out Bleacher Report's wall-to-wall draft protection on the front page. Matt Miller, Aaron Nagler, Michael Felder and Josh Zerkle will undoubtedly be considering each and every pick live from Nyc!

San Jose Earthquakes Star Alan Gordon Stopped 3 Games for Homophobic Slur

Major League Soccer has taken care of immediately San Jose Earthquakes striker Alan Gordon and his usage of a slur on Sunday in a game from the Portland Timbers. As reported by the team's standard website, Gordon has been stopped three games for his utilization of "unacceptable and unpleasant language" toward opposition Will Johnson in Sunday's match: MLS Commissioner Don Garber has stopped Gordon for three games and fined an amount to him for using undesirable and offensive language towards an opposition in the 60th minute of the overall game from the Portland Timbers on April 14. Commissioner Garber also required that Gordon attend awareness and range training. This really is as well as the training that most MLS clubs attend at the beginning of each and every period. The team also declared that Gordon wouldn't appeal your choice made by MLS commissioner Don Garber (via Twitter ):, following the suspension came down With just under 60 minutes of activity completed on Sunday, Johnson and Gordon got tied up near midfield with the rating knotted at zero. Waste talking ensued, and the cameras plainly grabbed Gordon use an incorrect expression after things got heated. Following the slur was used, you can also clearly see Johnson motioning that the three-game suspension was coming Gordon's way (viaADeadspin,Afirst movie has delicate language and is not appropriate for some readers). Johnson wound up getting the last laugh, striking a beautiful free stop purpose to give the benefit to the Timbers in the 77th second as San Jose was playing a guy down. As mentioned by Steven Goff of the Washington Post, Gordon will also be suspended yet another sport for a card in the match against Portland, ensuring he will miss San Jose's next four games: Gordon issued an (h/t SJEarthquakes.com) for the six-letter slur on Monday: I sincerely apologize for what I said within our game tonight. That language doesn't have place in our sport, even though I said it in the heat of as soon as. That is not my personality, but there's still no reason for saying what I said. I made an error and I accept full responsibility for my actions. MLS has caused it to be a place to prevent this kind of behavior throughout the last few months, of late with Seattle Sounders defender Marc Burch. Burch was the last person struck with a three-match suspension for a similar remark about Johnson in November 2012, and he was forced to miss Seattle's playoff fit at the end of the year as well as the first game of 2013. Gordon's suspension may be the latest exemplory instance of how sexual orientation won't be a place of destruction in sports. Ideally his three-game suspension immediately from the commissioner helps control his temper next time things get heated in the span of a match.

May Notre Dame Beat out SEC, ACC Powers for Stud 5-Star RB Sony Michel?

Five-star running right back Sony Michel might end up being the marquee recruit for head coach Brian Kelly and Notre Dame in 2014, but Georgia, Miami, Florida, Florida State and North Carolina may have something to express about this. In reality, in line with the 247Sports Crystal Ball element, it'll function as the Bulldogs who'll have some thing to say about that.AEight professionals predicted where Michel will land, and all eight picked Georgia. These are only predictions, nonetheless it is tough to reject the predictions of noted recruiting experts like JC Shurburtt,AKeith Niebuhr,AGerry Hamilton and Barton Simmons (all 247Sports). But do not count out Miami whilst the individual in this competition. FortALauderdaleAis only about 45 minutes away from Coral Gables, and Michel has taken aAplethora of unofficial visitsAto Miami. Contemplating the Hurricanes' momentum right now on the 2014 recruiting trail, it would be naive never to see them as an option to land the running back. Florida, Florida State and New York are also shown as "warm interest" on his 247Sports interest list, so keep them in your mind as well. All having said that, the opinion amongst the authorities is Georgia, and it is hard to deny what they see with the Bulldogs in regards to how Michel could match the program. Mind coach Mark Richt's system is now known for making some great running backs previously. Currently, the Bulldogs present two elite backs in sophomores Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall, but Georgia has additionally been home to operating backs likeAKnowshon Moreno,AGarrison Hearst and some person named Herschel Walker. That is good company to be in if you should be an aspiring star running back like Michel. In 2012, Gurley received 222 holds, and went for 1,385 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 6.2 yards a touch. He was the key option, but Marshall notched 117 carries himself, to the song of 759 yards and nine touchdowns.ARecent shift Malcome even got in the mix, working for 272 yards and two touchdowns on 57 carries. Michel is more than talented enough to compete with Turman to be the No. 3 behind Gurley and Marshall straight away, and he could take over since the main choice once both star shells move on. Since they certainly do, that's not to say that the Fighting Irish don't discuss bears. Last season Theo Riddick received 190 provides, Cierre Wood notched 114 and George Atkinson III went 51 times. In comparison with Notre Dame there appears to be a little more chance at Georgia. The Fighting Irish authorized two big-time running backs last year in 4-star Tarean FolstonAand Greg Bryant, and they'll be included with friends that currently featuresAAtkinson III,ACam McDaniel, Amir CarlisleA( currently wounded) andAredshirt freshmanAWillAMahone. Notre Dame will soon be good at running back, and honestly, the Fighting Irish do not need Michel. Could he be described as a large pickup and a luxury for Coach Kelly and his team? Certainly.AThat explained, the fact that Georgia seems to be the favorite to property Michel shouldn't be that discouraging for Fighting Irish fans.AI professionally have confidence in the skills of Folston and Bryant, and Notre Dame fans should look forward to the potential of the running back position with those two in the backfield. The final considerations in Georgia's favor are the proximity edge (Michel is fromAFort Lauderdale) and the dominant nature of the SECa'both in recruiting and on the field. Notre Dame is certainly far away from Fort Lauderdale, and the opportunity to compete and even get the SEC overhead within the next few times is certainly possible at Georgia. the chances are against Notre Dame.AIs it possible for the Fighting Irish to show the experts wrong it looks? Yes, without a doubt. Could it be likely though? I'll enable you to examine that below, but I think I have made my response to that question rather clear. Note: Michel may announceAhis decisionA( Derek Tyson/ESPN )Athis Friday, April 26, at 4:30 p.m. EST on ESPNU.

Report: Talks Between Cincinnati Bengals and James Harrison Are "Not Going Well"

As reported by Mike Garafolo of USA Today, talks between the Cincinnati Bengals and linebacker James Harrison are "not going well", according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The sides apparently are not locked in a stalemate just yet, but this comes as a huge shock when only yesterday it appeared that this was practically a done deal.

Pro Football Talk elaborated on the issue by adding that the Bengals have most of the leverage in this situation after a virtual non-existent market for Harrison, and the Bengals continuing to consider Karlos Dansby as an alternate option.

Clearly, there is mutual interest between these two parties at the moment. Harrison would love to get back into the AFC North and prove to the Pittsburgh Steelers that they were wrong in cutting him.

The Bengals severely lack an explosive and experienced linebacker corps and would welcome Harrison as a huge improvement to that area of the defense.

There is still a chance that a deal inevitably gets worked out, but this is certainly not a good indication of things to come.
